What most people hate about Valentine's Day is the fact that prices of flowers seem to spike at this time. This means that the price of a bouquet of roses or tulips would spike to nearly twice the price of what it originally was during other the times of the year.

If you choose to follow what the millions of others so blindly do, you get duped every single year and you fall prey to ridiculously high prices. If you choose not to follow the flowers and chocolates cliché, perhaps you would be interested in some other items that you might want to give to your significant other during Valentine's Day. Here is a thought as well; these gifts might also actually go well together with flowers and chocolates if you really do need to give some flowers and chocolates for formality's sake.

1. How about some shoes?

If you are not quite convinced about this idea just yet, try opening your girlfriend's closet and try counting the pair of shoes that she has. Whether it is five pairs or fifty pairs, a good looking pair of shoes will definitely go a long way in a woman's heart. Bags, aside from shoes, are one of the many vices that women may have. As you may notice, girls usually go out with matching outfits. This means that her top, shoes, skirt, accessories, and even her bag will definitely go well together. Similar to shoes, this is also definitely going to get you a long way in a woman's heart. The best part about bags is that there are all sorts of variants. This means you could choose from party bags, everyday bags, and any other kind that women may be more attuned to. Again, you could still enlist the help of one of her friends to help you out in picking a bag.

3. Clothes, it is about time this comes full circle.

How about another vice that women just can't seem to resist? Women just can't seem to stop buying clothing, whether these are dresses, tops, shorts, skirts and even those what not accessories that go with them. This could either be a very good thing for you; this means that you have a whole lot of products to choose from that you can give to her as a gift for Valentine's. Just make sure that you know what kind of clothes your significant other likes. Because it does not really matter how big a number is on that price tag if she does not like what you bought for her, right?
